Local Laws Overview
On 7 May 2015, Noosa Shire Council adopted a new suite of local laws. These new laws incorporate the State Government’s model local laws and a number of subordinate local laws which provide more detailed provisions specifically tailored for the Noosa Shire.
The new Noosa local laws came into effect on 1 July 2015.
Local laws help to regulate a range of activities to ensure the good governance, health and safety of communities in the shire and address issues such as:
- parking
- keeping animals
- approvals for activities
- short stay letting and home hosted accommodation
- neighbourhood nuisances (e.g. noise, illegal dumping, graffiti)
- bathing reserves
- dog off-leash areas
- abandoned vehicles
- advertising devices
