As a business you can trade, exchange or sell your unwanted waste with the ASPIRE program, reducing waste disposal costs and the amount of waste sent to landfill. Noosa Council has invested in a license for our local business community to have access to this great circular economy, business-to-business platform. All businesses with less than 100 staff can register for free.
ASPIRE is an online marketplace which uses innovative software, which assists businesses to trade, exchange or sell unwanted waste as a resource. ASPIRE was developed by CSIRO and Data61 in response to a need from Australian businesses and their local councils who were seeking a solution to their ever-growing waste disposal costs.

AB Mauri Yeast Australia is a food manufacturer of yeast products for industrial baking and retail products such as bread mixes for household bread makers. Approximately 2.5 tonnes of compressed yeast bricks are produced each week and 100kg of potato starch filters are produced each day, they are now sent to earth power to generate electricity from the methane produced from bio-digestible of food wastes. A 130 tonnes of waste has been diverted from landfill resulting in financial and environmental savings.
E-Waste is a huge problem in Australia. With approximately 109,000 tonnes of e-Waste disposed of annually, only 10% was recycled. A Tech Recyclers, an Australian recycler, source electronic waste from businesses and schools for re-purposing and recycling. On ASPIRE, they were able to build their client base to expand their stockpile and divert e-Waste from landfill.
