Waste and Resource Recovery Centres
Noosa has one waste management and resource recovery facility, as well as two additional waste transfer stations in the Hinterland.
For health and safety reasons, visitors must please wear enclosed footwear at all locations. Entry will be refused to anyone wearing sandals or thongs.
Locations and Opening Hours
Noosa Resource Recovery Centre
Address: 561 Eumundi Noosa Rd, Doonan
Opening Hours: 7am - 5pm daily (Closed Christmas Day)
Reviva Shop Hours: 8.30am - 4pm daily (Closed Public Holidays)
Drop off usable items in good condition at the Reviva Shop before entering the weighbridge.
Containers for Change Reverse Vending Machine available opposite the Reviva Shop for recycling eligible 10c containers.
NOTE: Roadworks at the Resource Recovery Centre will be taking place 5-25 November. For your safety, please adhere to all traffic control instructions.
Cooroy Waste Transfer Station
Address: Mary River Rd, Cooroy.
Opening Hours: 8am - 1pm, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Closed Christmas Day)
Pomona Waste Transfer Station
Address: 14 Pomona Kin Kin Rd (Cnr Louis Bazzo Dr), Pomona.
Opening Hours: 8am - 1pm, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Closed Christmas Day)
You can drop off the following items at all three facilities at no charge:
- E-waste (items with a plug or battery like TVs, electrical appliances, computers, laptops, tablets, printers, computer parts, cords, cables, CDs, DVDs)
- Paint
- White goods (certified degassed fridges, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers)
- Motor oil (not accepted at Pomona Transfer Station until further notice)
- Domestic batteries
- Lead-acid batteries (e.g., car batteries)
- Scrap metals
- Comingled recycling
- Cardboard/paper
- Domestic chemicals
- Domestic polystyrene
- Empty gas bottles
Fee-based Disposal Items
Fees apply to general waste disposal, including but not limited to:
- General waste
- Mattresses
- Garden waste
- Timber (Noosa Resource Recovery Centre only)
- Concrete (Noosa Resource Recovery Centre only)
- Tyres
- Fluorescent tubes
- Commercial polystyrene
NB: The Pomona and Cooroy Transfer Stations do not accept any building material. Building material needs to be disposed of at Noosa Resource Recovery Centre.

Resources available for purchase
Mulch and concrete products are produced from incoming waste - garden waste and concrete and masonry wastes. Council crushes and grinds these wastes with the goal to recycle the materials and avoid disposal to landfill. Customers are welcome to visit the sites to inspect and check if these recycled materials meet your expectations and suit your purpose.
- Crushed concrete: $20 per cubic metre. Available in 20mm, 40mm, 80mm sizes
Note: Product availability may change at short notice due to large volume sales.
Conditions for Purchase of Crushed Concrete
- Before loading the trailer for the first time, you must confirm its cargo capacity to ensure safe transport.
- Ensure that Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is never exceeded.
- The use of crushed concrete is at your own risk. Council is not responsible for any misuse or improper handling of the material.
- Council strongly recommends that all individuals handling crushed concrete use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: Heavy-duty gloves, long-sleeved shirts and pants, safety glasses, dust masks or other respiratory protection.
- All loads of crushed concrete must be securely covered before leaving the waste facility to prevent spillage or dust.
- Council reserves the right to amend these conditions at any time without notice.

Conditions for Purchase of Mulch
- Council accepts no liability of any nature whatsoever in connection with the sale, loading, collection, or use of mulch.
- Council will not be held responsible for any contamination, foreign matter, or variations in the quality of the mulch provided.
- Persons who purchase or use this mulch do so entirely at their own risk.
- Council strongly recommends that all individuals handling mulch use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: Heavy-duty gloves, long-sleeved shirts and pants, safety glasses, dust masks or other respiratory protection.

Hazardous Waste
Asbestos: Dispose of asbestos at the Noosa Resource Recovery Centre only. Complete the online Asbestos Disposal form and submit two business days prior to disposal. Read the Approval Conditions for Disposal of Asbestos before completing the application. Fines apply for incorrect disposal.
Contaminated Soil: Dispose of contaminated soil at Noosa Resource Recovery Centre only. Complete the online Disposal of Contaminated Soil form.
Flares: Do not place flares (from boats) into your general waste bin. Contact Noosa Qld Boat and Fisheries at 2 Russell St, Noosaville or Noosa Coastguard for disposal.
