Organising Events on Council Land
The Noosa region has many outdoor venues where you can hold an event.
Council adopted the Noosa Events Policy in July 2019, following community consultation. This policy applies to events proposed or held on Council controlled land that require a permit under Council's Local Laws. The Policy aims to provide clarity around the staging of events on community-owned land.
Noosa Main Beach Event Policy was adopted in March 2018, this policy applies to events proposed or held in the Noosa Main Beach Precinct.
Noosaville Foreshore
The Noosa River Foreshore is one of the most valued natural assets in Noosa Shire. Council adopted the Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master Plan in May 2018 with the aim of protecting the integrity of the foreshore by carefully considering the balance between recreational use and commercial activities, events, markets and the like. Council's vision for the foreshore is that its natural beauty is retained and use of the area ensures it can be enjoyed by future generations.
If you wish to hold an event in a park, on a beach or road, you will need a permit from Council.
Note council does not issue permits for private family functions/birthday parties/family gatherings on any beach or Council land. For private functions on council land there are restrictions, please contact Customer Service for further details. Noosa Council does not have a Permit Issued for Private Picnic Events.
Events on Private Land
Events on Private Land may require a letter of no objection. However all enquiries for events to be held on private land should be directed to property@noosa.qld.gov.au.
