Connecting Noosa bringing locals together through free activities

Back

With the long weekend approaching, Council is continuing to offer a range of activities to help locals stay connected and try something new.

Connecting Noosa, launched last October, is a program offering a suite of free community activities around the shire, giving residents the opportunity to engage, socialise and participate in a COVID-safe environment.

This Saturday, a new yoga class will be held at 9.30am at Noosa Botanical Gardens and again next Tuesday at 9.00am at Cooroy Badminton Club.

Then on Sunday, Beatrice Prost will host an ephemeral gathering at the Noosa Botanical Gardens from 10.00am. Also at the Botanical Gardens in the Shade Garden, Noosa Orchestra Flautists, Sharelle and Jazmyn Guest are set to entertain with Music in the Gardens from 10.00am - 12.00pm.

Community Development Officer, Cheryl Pattison said Connecting Noosa was being well supported by the community.

“Since the program launched, we’ve been focused on re-connecting the Noosa community,” she said.

After bushfires and restrictions through the pandemic, Council launched Connecting Noosa as an initiative to support residents to connect with friends and make new ones by participating in free community events.

“It’s been great to see so many locals getting out and enjoying some new activities. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to reach out to neighbours, friends, family and colleagues and get them along to these activities,” Ms. Pattison added.
