Noosa the place for digital nomads this Christmas

Tourists visiting Noosa are being reminded that the Shire isn’t just a holiday destination – it’s also the perfect location to work from remotely.

Director of the Peregian Digital Hub Chris Boden said the changing nature of modern work can make logging off for the summer holidays all but impossible for many.

“The entrepreneurial and emerging start-up business landscape is growing exponentially, which means the way people take a break is also changing,” Mr Boden said.

“Noosa recognises this and has some great co-working options for those who still need to meet the demands of their business, including Council’s brand new $3-million Peregian Digital Hub.

“The Hub is the perfect place for those working in the established and emerging tech space, with a purpose-built co-working location just 400m from Peregian Beach, offering world-class gigabit internet alongside top tech and digital types.”

Noosa Council Economic Development Manager Anthony Dow said putting out the welcome mat for digital nomads supported key elements of the Noosa Shire Local Economic Plan.

“Our local economy relies heavily on tourism, retail and construction sectors, and is home to more than 7000 small and micro businesses,” Mr Dow said.

“Supporting local business as well as broadening our economic structure is a critical step to ensure continued growth throughout the Shire.

“With the rise of remote working, Noosa is well-placed to deliver superior co-working and remote office spaces that encourage small businesses and start-ups to make the Shire their preferred location to do business.”
