Have your say on how to age well
Have your say on how to age well in Noosa and help shape the future of programs and activities for residents 65 years and over.
The Ageing Well Noosa community survey invites locals over 65 to put forward ideas on the range of recreation and social activities they would like to be involved in.
Suggestions provided by the community will help create a 40-week program to assist inactive older adults to become more active.
Individuals who are 65 years and older can have their say by completing the survey on council’s website. The survey has 14 quick questions and closes 30 September.
“We would like our seniors to fill out the survey as this will help us plan a range of activities and programs, to get people more active, more often” says Noosa Community Programs Officer Angela Romanowski.
“We want our community members to be part of the decision-making process to come up with innovative ways to help locals benefit from an active lifestyle”.
This program takes a holistic view of active ageing, working in collaboration with a range of stake holders to promote overall good physical, social, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
Noosa Council has received $100,000 from the Department of Health and Wellbeing Queensland and will contribute a further $20,000 to the program.
The survey will be open for comment online and Have your Say booths will also be open for people to provide their feedback at both the Cooroy and Noosaville libraries until 30 September.
