After a long hiatus, Council's popular Grants Connect event is back in 2023.

The popular networking event brings a new round of presenters keen to offer local community groups advice and assistance.

The event will take place on Wednesday, February 8, from 5:30-7:30 pm at The J Noosa and will coincide with the opening of the next round of Community Grants and Regional Arts Development Fund grants, which open at 9:00 am on the same day.

Council Grants Officer, Meagan Monk, said the evening would feature a selection of presentations, good food and networking opportunities for community groups, as well as information about free grants, services and initiatives available to them.

“It has been two and a half years since the event was hosted and we are very much looking forward to providing the community with this informative networking event,” added Ms Monk.

Presentation topics include Council’s grant programs, sports and recreation grants, arts and culture grants and the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

Community Development, Manager Alison Hamblin, said Council was excited to be holding the evening again after a lengthy break caused by COVID-19.

“In recent times we’ve received a lot of feedback from the community group volunteers about how they really enjoyed getting together to talk about common resources and issues. Grants Connect gives them a chance to collaborate,” Ms Hamblin said.

This is a free event but attendees must register. For bookings, visit Eventbrite and search for Grants Connect. For more information about the evening, call 5329 6437.
