Nominate now to join Council's heritage advisory group
Council is calling for nominations to fill vacant positions on the Noosa Heritage Reference Group.
“This is a unique opportunity for locals with heritage expertise or a passion for Noosa’s history to help preserve, protect and promote the Shire’s cultural heritage,” says Alan ‘Fox’ Rogers, Council’s Community Services Director.
The Reference Group provides input and advice as to heritage priorities and the types of heritage projects Council should undertake. This advice helps Council decide where to invest the Shire’s Heritage Levy funds.
Chris Hunt, current Heritage Reference Group member said, “I enjoy the opportunity of engaging with Noosa Council and community members who are passionate about preserving our local heritage by providing feedback and suggestions on cultural, environmental, and historical heritage projects.”
There are three positions available – one for a community member and two for individuals currently working in the heritage sector.
The Reference Group meets four times a year. Membership is for a period of up to two years. Nominations close October 26, 2018.
