Council seeks new RADF committee recruits

Council is looking for new recruits to join its Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Committee.

Volunteer committee members meet twice a year to make recommendations about which arts projects Council should fund in each RADF grant round, and assist Council in the development of its cultural policy.

They also promote RADF funding opportunities to their creative networks and the broader community.

RADF Chair Councillor Jess Glasgow says applicants must have a keen interest, involvement or experience in the arts to be eligible to apply.

“This includes everything from theatre and dance through to writing, multimedia and visual art, as well as arts administration,” he said. “So experience in developing cultural programs, managing arts events and facilities is useful.”

“Since 2014 the RADF program has provided more than $165,000 to assist more than 46 creative projects in Noosa,” Cr Glasgow said.

“Becoming a RADF committee member is great way to give back to the community, learn more about the breadth and depth of Noosa’s artistic and creative talent and to extend one’s professional networks.”

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Noosa Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

For more information about applying to be a volunteer RADF committee member, visit Council’s website, or call the RADF officer on (07) 5329 6558, or send Council an email.
