Chamber of Commerce to run Cooroy RV Stopover

Cooroy Chamber of Commerce will take over the running of Council’s Cooroy RV Stopover from August 1.

The new arrangements will see profits from the facility flow back into the Cooroy community, Mayor Tony Wellington said.

Council has awarded the Chamber a three-year freehold permit to run the site following a recent expression of interest process.

The Mayor said the previous management model, which saw a commercial operator run the site, had proven the facility could turn a profit.

“The Chamber has shown that it has the capacity, funds and resources to operate the Cooroy RV Stopover, plus it has experience running large community projects and events,” the Mayor said.

“It was always Council’s vision that this facility be run by the community for the benefit of the community. The Cooroy Chamber of Commerce have long been advocates for an RV facility.”
