Sign up today for Come-and-Try Adventure Challenge
Council’s Come-and-Try Adventure Challenge in May offers residents curious about adventure sports the chance to find out if the adrenalin-rush is for them.
The three-hour adventure course event will allow participants to try paddling, mountain biking, trekking and basic navigation.
Register for the May 27 free event online at Council's Your Say Noosa website until May 16.
“Get your family members and friends together and sign up today in teams of two or, if you don’t have a team mate don’t panic, we will match you up,” says Council’s Community Development Manager Alison Hamblin.
“The Come-and-Try Adventure Challenge is intended for people who are keen to get a taste of adventure sports, rather than seasoned adventure sport enthusiasts.
“We hope the event inspires locals to get active and enjoy being outdoors in Noosa’s beautiful hinterland. There is also the chance to win a prize, as all participants will go into a random prize draw.”
Tri Adventure will run the event, to be held at Lake Macdonald Park, Lake Macdonald Drive, Cooroy, adjacent to Noosa Botanic Gardens.
All necessary equipment is available for loan. Entry is limited to 100 places.
“In preparation, Tri Adventure will be conducting a free skills clinic on Saturday, April 21 at Kayak Noosa.
“It will teach navigation and paddling skills, and participants will receive gear suggestions and demonstrations,” Ms Hamblin says.
To book for the free skills clinic, phone 0407 761 150.
