Mike Higgins reveals what really went on under the news desk
Gangsters, spies and what really went on under the news desk…
It’s all up for discussion when former newsreader Mike Higgins stops at Noosaville Library in September to chat about his new memoir.
Trouserless Under the News Desk delves into Higgins’s childhood, his TV and radio careers, plus his work on the environment.
“But it’s his accounts of run-ins with gangsters, politicians and spies that add layers to his story and make this a captivating book,” says Noosa Library Service’s Jane Harding.
“His tough fight to beat cancer, given just a 16% survival prognosis, will move and inspire readers.”
The well-known and much loved Channel 7 personality’s “tell-all” tome is quickly amassing fans, including former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
“Mike Higgins is instantly recognisable to a generation of Queensland TV viewers and radio listeners. His tell-all book reveals the truth about what was going on under the news desk and his inspirational fight against life-threatening cancer,” the former Prime Minister said.
Noosaville Library is the latest stop in Mike’s tour of Queensland’s east coast to promote the book.
A local resident, Mike Higgins calls Eumundi home.
“We‘re thrilled to have Mike back on home soil to discuss his colourful life both in and out of the spotlight, plus hear his take on the writing process,” Ms Harding said.
Mike Higgins will speak at Noosaville Library on Tuesday September 10, 2-3:30pm. To attend the free event, book online or call (07) 5329 6500
Books will be for sale on the day.
