Extra seating just the ticket to host bigger audiences and bigger acts at The J
It has hosted film festivals such as Noosa International Film Festival, Manhattan Short and Banff, and been venue of choice for comedy acts such as Kitty Flanagan and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow.
Now, thanks to the rollout of 64 new mezzanine-level seats, The J is set to satisfy larger audiences and entice even more events and acts to Noosa.
Kate Sanders from The J said the new seating was installed in response to demand from audiences, plus it made the venue a more viable option, financially, for promoters.
“This is great news for the community as it means we’ll be able to attract more acts, popular concerts and shows that residents love,” she said.
“It also means less disappointed patrons missing out on shows.”
The new tiered seats have brought The J’s seating capacity to 402. Located on the mezzanine level the seats are comfortable and offer a great view of the stage.
“The seating is also removable, allowing the mezzanine to be set up as a meeting space for up to 50 people when not needed for a stage show or concert. There is also an area available next to the new seating area, where we can entertain VIP guests.
“We look forward to welcoming even more shows and popular attractions to The J as a result of this increase in seating capacity,” Ms Sanders said.
Upcoming events at The J include A Very Kransky Christmas, Noosa Chorale Wassail Christmas Cheer Concert and Jimeoin.
