Three new defibrillators for Council holiday parks

Three Noosa Council holiday parks are set to gain life-saving defibrillators.

Council has ordered automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for Noosa North Shore Campground, Noosa River Holiday Park and Boreen Point Campground.

Staff will be trained to use the devices, worth almost $2000 each, to help save a life in the event of an emergency.

The Apollonian Social Club has donated half the cost of the Boreen Point Campground defibrillator.

“An AED could mean the difference between life and death for someone suffering a heart attack, particularly in the more remote parts of the shire, such as Boreen Point and Noosa North Shore,” said Councillor Joe Jurisevic.

“As every minute counts in a medical emergency the installation of these devices will give anyone who suffers a heart attack while visiting one of these parks a fighting chance.”

Paul Willsteed from the Apollonian Social Club said they were happy to partner with Council in delivering this potential life-saving initiative. “We see this life-saving equipment as important and we are pleased Council has accepted our donation and will house the defibrillators at its facilities”.

Various other Council facilities are already equipped with the AEDs.
