Council scores well in Community Satisfaction Survey
Noosa Council has outshone other Queensland local governments with the results of its recent Community Satisfaction Survey.
More than 76% of residents surveyed by Market Facts, rated Noosa Council’s overall performance as either ‘good’ or ‘very good’.
Waste management, customer service, disaster management, financial management and the quality of elected council were among Noosa Council’s strengths.
Mayor Tony Wellington welcomed the results contained in a report to Council, which compares Noosa’s overall performance with that of other Queensland councils.
Council achieved above average scores in four out of five key performance areas.
“While there is always room to improve, the results show residents are generally happy with their Council, and that the hard work of staff across Council’s many business areas doesn't go unnoticed,” the Mayor said.
Council commissioned the survey of 400 people to measure the community’s satisfaction with more than 40 Council services.
The survey included questions about roads and other infrastructure, Council’s environmental initiatives, libraries and cultural facilities, plus town planning and economic development.
Respondents were also asked about their experiences dealing with Councillors and Council staff, and the way Council communicates and consults with the community.
The Mayor thanked the residents who took part in the survey.
“We’ll use this feedback to review and improve our services, and we will continue to measure our performance against other Queensland councils.”
