Community group get-together on again

Back

Council’s popular Grants, Network and Nibbles Night returns on Thursday, 13 July with a new round of presenters.

Each of the presenters will offer useful advice for community groups on how to secure grant funding.

The evening of presentations, good food and networking is also a great way for community group representatives to discover the breadth of grants, services and infrastructure available.

Community Development Manager Alison Hamblin said the evening would follow a similar format to the past, but with a new twist.

“We’ve got four presenters giving fast-paced, quick presentations with tips on how to get grants. We’ve got tips on developing a fundraising strategy, being prepared for grant opportunities, searching for the many grants out there, and, finally, tips on how to write the application,” she said.

“Hopefully this will help our local groups secure more grant funding.”

Four more presenters from different organisations, that kindly give to the community, will speak at the event, which will be held from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, Thursday 13 July at The J.

The night will bring community groups together with organisations such as Noosa Council, Unitywater, Noosa News, The Social Deck, and Sport and Rec (State Government), to talk funding and support.

“These events are popular, with around 120 local community group representatives typically coming along each time and we always get great feedback about the fast-paced format of the night,” Ms Hamblin said.

“Everyone also seems to enjoy the chance to catch up with their fellow community-spirited colleagues over a bite to eat and a laugh. It’s a really nice night.”
