Sign up before July 7 to receive next rates notice by email

Ratepayers who’d like to receive their July rates notice via email have until July 7 to sign up to Council’s paperless billing service.

More than 5,400 or 18% of ratepayers are now receiving their rates notices electronically.

“We encourage more people to go paperless, and we’re happy to assist,” Council’s Corporate Services Director Michael Shave said.

“Not only is it now more convenient for a lot of people to manage their bills digitally, but it saves Council, and therefore the community, the cost of postage.

“It’s also better for the environment as it reduces paper use and printing, which aligns to Council’s Zero Emissions Strategy.

“Ratepayers can sign up for paperless billing at any time, but if it’s after July 7, it won’t kick in until the January 2018 rating cycle as the July rates notices will have already been processed.”

Visit Council's website to make the switch.

“Ratepayers simply need to fill out the online form, specifying their property details, and their preferred email address,” Mr Shave said.

“Once signed up, ratepayers will receive one last letter in the post to confirm their request.”
