Council has announced the latest round of Community Project Grant recipients.

23 projects across four categories – programs, events, equipment and infrastructure – will share in just over $130,000

“This round of grants will support a wide range of community projects,” says Mayor Tony Wellington.

“For example, funds will go towards helping Noosa Coast Guard upgrade its training room, as well as supporting Cooran Amateur Rugby League Football Club’s plans for new spectator seating.”

Other recipients include:

  • Tewantin Tennis Club, to install a new Tennis Australia online court booking system.
  • Noosa Show Society, to upgrade a kitchen.
  • School Breakfast Support Group, for delivery of driver training.
  • Noosa Integrated Catchment Association for its Gardens for Wildlife scoping study.
  • Sunshine Coast Reconciliation Group to support a seminar program.

“Community Project Grants are always competitive, and although it’s not possible to fund every application in each round, more than half received funding this time,” Mayor Wellington said.

Community Project Grants are part of Council’s popular Community Grants Program.

Council staff are available to assist not-for-profit community organisations to apply for these and other grants. Community groups can contact Council’s Community Development team on 07 5329 6500 for more information.
