Council's May 18 Ordinary Meeting to be held at Boreen Point

Noosa Council will hold its May 18 Ordinary Meeting at Boreen Point, so local residents can meet the Mayor and Councillors and see how Council makes its decisions.

The Ordinary Meeting will be held at the Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club, 24 Boreen Parade, Boreen Point.

The meeting starts at 6pm, but residents can arrive from 5pm to chat with Councillors.

“Holding the Ordinary Meeting in different parts of the shire gives residents who don’t live near the Tewantin chambers the opportunity to experience a Council meeting as well as meet with their elected representatives,” Mayor Tony Wellington said.

“There will be time both before and after the meeting for residents to discuss local issues with councillors.

“In the past we have held meetings at Cooroy, Noosa Junction, Peregian Beach, Cooran and Pomona. This was a tradition established under Noel Playford’s mayoralty and I am more than happy to continue with it.”

Mayor Wellington, Deputy Mayor Frank Wilkie and Councillors Jess Glasgow, Ingrid Jackson, Joe Jurisevic, Frank Pardon and Brian Stockwell will all be on hand at the meeting, as well as some senior Council staff.

The Ordinary Meeting is the last meeting in each meeting cycle.

“I look forward to meeting residents who come along on May 18,” the Mayor said.
