This Easter, hop aboard Noosa's free holiday buses

Back

Skip the pressure of parking this Easter with Council’s free holiday buses.

Travel will be free on five local TransLink bus routes from April 8 – 17, with a free shuttle on the road between Peregian Beach and Noosa Heads.

“The free holiday bus initiative is ever-popular,” Acting Mayor Frank Wilkie said.

“Tens of thousands of people typically board the buses during the Easter and Christmas holidays. Once again we’re pleased to deliver this initiative in cooperation with Sunbus and TransLink.”

The free holiday buses are a great, free opportunity, for residents and visitors to try public transport.

“More than 60 per cent of passengers polled during the recent Christmas free holiday bus initiative said they had access to a car in Noosa, so it’s great to see people actively choosing to take the bus instead,” Cr Wilkie said.

More than 55 per cent of passengers polled were locals.

Travel on a range of regular services, and a temporary service will be free this Easter.

Regular services:

  • Route 626 – Tewantin to Sunrise Beach via Noosa Heads
  • Route 627 – Tewantin to Sunshine Beach via Noosa Heads
  • Route 628 – Noosa Parklands to Noosa Junction, via Noosa Civic

Generally, a weekend timetable will operate on most public holidays.
