Your questions about high-speed internet access answered

Council is helping local business people find answers to their questions about internet access.

“The business community have been telling us that it is hard to access reliable, fast and affordable broadband services,” says Council’s Economic Development Advisor Carolyn Bullen.

“We’ve gathered representatives from various telcos to explain the services available and help resolve some of the issues people may be experiencing.”

The free event – part of Noosa Council’s #NoosaConnects event series, is open to all businesses of all sizes working from any location.

It’s being held in partnership with Regional Development Australia (RDA) Sunshine Coast.

The event will help people better understand:

Broadband services currently available for business, and the costs.

New broadband services that will be available with the arrival of the NBN.

When and how to connect to the NBN.

Other fast broadband options available.

“State and Federal Government representatives will also be there to talk about grants to help businesses get digital ready, and skill development programs, many of which are free or low cost, that exist to help businesses grow,” Ms Bullen said.

The event line up doesn’t end there.  You can come and talk to business people who have successfully navigated the digital journey and are now saving time and money, and finding new ways to sell products and communicate with their target audiences. Additionally you can see firsthand some of the software and programs that will help save you time and money.

Telcos attending include Telstra, Optus, NBN Co, TPG, Big Air, Our Community Broadband, Flash Fibres and Noosa Telecom and the list is growing.

The digital connectivity event builds on the success of the first #NoosaConnects event held last year where over 230 people attended.

RDA CEO Darrell Edwards said RDA was pleased to partner with Council to host it.

“RDA is pleased to support this event, which is also a perfect opportunity to talk about the capacity-building programs we’re rolling out with the State Government,” he said.

This free event is on Wednesday, April 19 from 5pm – 7.30pm at The J Noosa.
