Noosa Councillors and Council staff are preparing to take on the Kin Kin community at this weekend’s Pink Stumps cricket match.

Cr Joe Jurisevic said the Council team has been holding secret training sessions in preparation of the for the big match.

Big-hitting Brisbane Heat, Queensland and Australian batsman Chris Lynn will be on hand to umpire the match and offer a few pointers and autographs.

Hot 91’s Sam Coward will be ground announcer, bringing his unique brand of humour to commentating the match.

“There will be raffles, plenty of food and fun on offer as well as a lot of laughs and some not-too-serious cricket,” Cr Jurisevic said.

All proceeds from the day will support the McGrath Foundation, which raises money to place specialist Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia.

The Foundation also works hard to increase breast cancer awareness among young people.

Donations can also be made to the McGrath Foundation online.

The cricket match follows on from the success of last year’s Pink Stumps Mayoral Candidates match.

“We hope that this will continue as an annual event,” Cr Jurisevic said.

It is on this Sunday, 19 February, at the Kin Kin Oval. It starts at 2pm.
