Have a say on Council's draft Corporate Plan

Back

Council is calling for comment on its new, draft Corporate Plan.

CEO Brett de Chastel said the Corporate Plan was a key document under the Local Government Act, which helps guide Council’s long-term strategy and decision making.

“It sets out Council’s vision, defines its purpose and lists the key themes that the Council will focus on in the coming years,” he said.

Residents can view the draft Plan on Council’s Your Say Noosa website. Copies are also available at the Council Chambers and libraries.

Council is seeking feedback on three key areas of the draft Corporate Plan, but comments are welcome on any aspect of the Plan.

The three key areas are:

  • Vision: Council has proposed a vision that reflects our distinctive Noosa approach – “Noosa Shire – different by nature”.
  • Purpose (sometimes known as a mission statement): Council believes that its purpose is “Working with our community to shape Noosa Shire’s future”.
  • Five key themes that will guide Council’s focus for the coming years. These are the “high level” issues, rather than detailed actions.

There are four ways to have a say:

  • Respond to the forum at Council’s Your Say Noosa website.
  • Email Council.
  • Write to Council at PO Box 141 Tewantin QLD 4565.
  • Fill out a feedback form at the Council Chambers, or Noosaville and Cooroy Libraries.

Mr de Chastel said Council had extended the consultation period from two weeks to a month, to allow residents more time to have a say, given the busy Christmas period.
