Council to hold October 20 meeting in Cooroy

Noosa Council will hold its Ordinary Meeting in Cooroy in October, to give local residents a chance to meet the mayor and councillors and see how Council makes its decisions.

The Ordinary Meeting – the last meeting in each meeting cycle – will be held at Cooroy Sports Hub, 5 Opal Street, Cooroy, on October 20.

“We’ve held several of our Ordinary Meetings in different parts of the Shire since 2014 to make it easier for residents in those areas to attend and see how Council works,” says Mayor Tony Wellington.

“This Council has decided to continue the tradition established by the previous Noosa Council of taking our meetings to the people. It’s also an opportunity for residents to meet with their elected representatives. There will be time before and after the formal meeting for residents to chat with councillors.”

All of the elected local government representatives will be present at the Cooroy Ordinary Meeting: Mayor Wellington, Deputy Mayor Frank Wilkie and Councillors Jess Glasgow, Ingrid Jackson, Joe Jurisevic, Frank Pardon and Brian Stockwell. Senior Council staff will also be in attendance.

The actual meeting starts at 6pm, with meet-and-greet sessions beforehand from 5pm and after the meeting from approximately 6.30pm.
