Surf club toilets to close for revamp
The Noosa Heads Surf Club public toilets will close for a revamp for five weeks from mid-August.
Work crews will upgrade drainage at the site and renew wall and floor tiles, partitions, waterproofing, paintwork and electrics.
Project Officer Ian Pearce said Council timed the work for winter to avoid the holiday period.
“Two demountable cabin toilets will be installed in the car park, with traffic calming in place so people can easily access them on foot,” Mr Pearce said.
Council has partnered with the Hastings Street Association to fund the project.
Toilets, which cater for disability access, near the visitor information centre will stay open.
“The revamp will provide brighter, cleaner amenities for residents and visitors. We will be working as fast as we can to re-open the toilets. We appreciate the community’s patience.”
Council hopes to complete the revamp in five weeks, but wet weather and any unexpected complications with the drainage system may prolong it slightly.
