Boost for business mentors

Noosa Council has approved $5000 worth of financial support for a local business mentoring program.

Council last night approved the funding for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland Noosa branch to support its Business Mentoring Noosa program.

Mayor Tony Wellington said the monies would help continue the successful program for the remainder of 2016.

“The CCIQ Noosa mentoring program has been tremendously successful since its inception in 2012, with around 200 businesses taking part so far and another 54 currently going through the program,” Cr Wellington said.

“Mentoring sees businesspeople benefit from others’ expertise and experience. In this way they can better assess how their business is operating and thus make changes for the better. It also provides a forum for brainstorming and future planning, making the Business Mentoring Noosa program a fantastic tool to assist local economic development.”

Council provided the funds from its economic development budget.
