Have a say on the Sunshine Beach Skatepark upgrade for a chance to win
Noosa Council and Convic, a skatepark design company, is inviting residents to put forward their ideas on the design of an upgrade of the Sunshine Beach Skate Park.
A public meeting to gather input from the community will be held at the Sunshine Beach Skate Park at the end of Girraween Court between 1pm and 5pm on Saturday 23rd April.
There will also be skating tricks competitions with a chance to win one of $700 worth of prizes.
All ideas will be recorded and then be considered in the new design for the upgrade.
“The existing Sunshine Beach Skate Park is 13 years old and is need of an upgrade to provide a safe and exciting skating location for young people,” said Council’s Planning and Infrastructure Project Officer Dallas Bickley.
“We want to make sure that what we design is safe but also what kids here want.
“We really encourage skaters and their parents to come along to the meeting and put their ideas on the table.”
Convic has been involved in the design and construction of skateparks around the world and is considered one of the leaders in the field.
