Grant funding help for community groups
Council is offering advice about Noosa Council’s community grants program to not-for-profit community groups that are in need of financial help.
Community Development Coordinator Alison Hamblin said the grants program offered a range of funding opportunities, with the current round closing 8 April.
“We welcome the chance to sit down with community group representatives and talk them through the grants available, discuss eligibility, timeframes and other details,” she said.
As well as the Festive Season, Projects, Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) and Three-Year Maintenance grants there is a new three-year Community Alliance Grant which provides financial support for eligible not-for-profit community groups that provide significant benefit to the wider community.
“There is still time for community groups, that are thinking about applying, to ask for advice and prepare an application for this round of funding,” Ms Hamblin said.
Council has cut red tape and made the grants program fairer by offering eligible community groups financial assistance with fixed water and sewerage access charges, plus up to $1000 worth of annual consumption charges.
Community groups with facilities on Council-controlled land may also be able to obtain help covering the cost of building insurance.
Community groups should contact Council’s Community Development Team by phone on (07) 5329 6437 or by email.
