No absentee voting for March 19 council elections
Noosa Council CEO Brett de Chastel has reminded voters that there is no absentee voting for the March 19 local government elections in Queensland.
“This means voters who are registered for the Noosa Shire Council electoral area must vote at a booth within the Noosa Shire. These arrangements also apply for the vote on the State Referendum on parliamentary terms which is being undertaken at the same time,” Mr de Chastel said.
“Noosa Shire Council voters should receive a notice from the electoral commission that has the Noosa Shire Council electoral area noted at the very top right hand side of the notice.”
Voters who are unable to vote on Saturday 19 March can either apply to the Electoral Commission Queensland for a postal vote, by no later than 7 pm Wednesday 16 March; or lodge a pre-poll vote in person between Monday 14 March and Thursday 17 March between 9 am and 5 pm; and Friday 18 March between 9 am and 6 pm at either the Christian Outreach Centre, 202 Beckmans Road, Noosaville or at the Returning Officer’s premises at 3A Production Street, Noosaville, which is in the industrial estate.
