Detour in place as Council begins Goodchap Street reseal
Council will reseal Goodchap Street this month as part of Noosa’s $6.1 million shire-wide road resurfacing program.
Council technical officer Cameron Shields says motorists should expect short delays from late November as work on Goodchap Street, Lake Entrance Boulevard and Eumundi-Noosa Road, near Beckmans Road, begins.
“We’ll be making every possible effort to minimise traffic impacts, but delays of up to 10 minutes are likely, particularly while the Goodchap Street work is underway, beginning 27 November for approximately three weeks,” Mr Shields said.
“Goodchap Street will be restricted to one lane, with access limited to westbound traffic – that is traffic entering from the Eumundi-Noosa Road end – for the duration of the work,” Mr Shields said.
“Eastbound motorists – that is those heading from Tewantin – will need to detour along Hilton Terrace to access Noosaville.
“We know that no one likes to be stuck at roadworks so Council encourages motorists to avoid this area as much as possible.”
Mr Shields said the roadwork would not impact bus services, or access to Noosa Hospital, and Council staff were contacting residents regarding property access.
Council will reseal a section of Eumundi-Noosa Road, including the roundabout at the Beckmans Road intersection, from 23 November.
“However, this work will be scheduled for during the night to minimise disruption to motorists,” Mr Shields says.
Work crews will resurface Lake Entrance Boulevard on November 26 and 27, with delays expected.
“We will be doing all we can to complete all three of these necessary work projects quickly, weather permitting, and we appreciate residents’ patience,” Mr Shields said.
