It can be challenging keeping track of finances in today’s fast-paced world, with rapidly changing technology adding a further layer of complexity to banking and spending.

But help is at hand at Noosa Library for anyone wanting to better manage their finances.

The Library is currently accepting enrolments for its new program Dollars Making Sense.

The program covers topics such as basic cash handling, family budgeting, saving, electronic banking, credit cards and loans, and financial contracts such as those associated with mobile phones and mortgages.

“Providing residents with the skills to manage their money wisely and live within their means is not only invaluable for them and their families, but contributes to the broader economic well-being of communities,” says Heritage Librarian and Literacy Coordinator Jane Harding.

Program participants will receive free one-on-one support from trained volunteer tutors over 18 months, commencing in early August.

The program has been funded via a grant from Financial Literacy Australia.

To enquire, or to join the program, please contact the library on (07) 5329 6555 or via email to libraries@noosa.qld.gov.au to arrange an interview.
