Noosa Civic expansion plans open for comment
The community can have a say, from Monday July 6, on a major development application for the expansion of Noosa Civic.
Noosa Council Planning and Environment Manager Kerri Coyle said the public notification period would close on July 30.
Submissions can be made online from Monday via Noosa Council’s YourSay Noosa portal at http://yoursay.noosa.qld.gov.au
Ms Coyle said the proposal comprised approximately 30,000sqm of additional and reconfigured retail floor space linked to the southeast of the existing centre.
It includes two supermarkets, a discount department store and 1000 additional car parking spaces.
Ms Coyle said applicant QIC this week responded to Council’s information request, made after the application was lodged back in December.
“Once the public notification period ends the application will go before Council for a decision, which is likely to be later in the year,” Ms Coyle said.
