Pirate Playground revamp begins

Work will begin Monday on Noosaville’s Pirate Playground, with the area to be closed off while Council installs new multi-level play equipment.

Noosa Council Project Officer Dallas Bickley said the first stage of the work to replace the ageing play equipment includes installation of a large climbing net.

Stage two will include installation of a swinging basket, soft fall matting and other infrastructure.

Once finished, children will be able to enjoy three open-air slides and a tunnel slide, climbing walls, a flying fox, monkey bars and interactive panels.

“The work will take around four weeks to complete and we appreciate residents’ patience while we improve the facility for the many children who use the playground,” Mr Bickley said.

The playground will be closed off with safety fencing during construction.

Two parking spaces on Gympie Terrace will also be closed to allow for contractor access during construction.
