Photography in focus at Noosa Regional Gallery
The focus is on photography at Noosa Regional Gallery this month with four new exhibitions set to open on March 27.
Rob Roy explores the boundaries between painting and photography in his exhibition Tangled Up in Hue.
Salli Sixpence uses macro-photography and bevel-mirrored sunlight refraction to create a reinterpretation of all things botanical in his exhibition Sound Track.
“Salli has two exhibitions opening on March 27. The second, called Dear Dor’ I’m Done For ... explores aspects of author CJ Dennis’ writings and his character Ginger Mick through abstract assemblages captured in pictures,” says Noosa Regional Gallery Director Nina Shadforth.
Noosa photographer Judith Ahern captures Noosa’s coast and the skies above in her exhibition Noosa Skyscapes.
Ms Shadforth says the Gallery is pleased to demonstrate the evolution of photography with these new exhibitions.
“It has evolved from traditional emulsion-type images of what we are familiar with, to contemporary concepts in photography as a digital art-form. The three artists we are showcasing each employ different techniques to achieve visually captivating works that contain more than meets the eye,” she says.
