Library up late!
Cooroy Library will resound to the delightful strains of the Davonski Concert Orchestra on Friday September 26 from 7.30pm. It is a chance to visit the library after hours and enjoy an enchanted evening of music.
Conducted by international violinist Delwyn Day, the program will feature: a mystery musical pantomime, a selection of Strauss Waltzes and much more. As a special treat vocal soloist Louise Findlay will be performing Giordani's Caro Mio Ben and Mozart's Alleluia.
Formed in January 2014, the Davonski Concert Orchestra has drawn its members from every corner of the Sunshine Coast and under the baton of Delwyn Day, operates as a tight knit musical family, calling on the musical experience, enthusiasm and commitment of each musician to present a satisfying musical journey in every performance.
The Library Programs Officer said the audience is asked to dress to impress. ‘It is a rare chance to wear that special dress or jacket that sits in the wardrobe waiting to venture out', she said.
‘Enjoy canapés and drinks in the sunken courtyard on arrival. These are included in the ticket price and then the bar will open again in the intermission to purchase more refreshments as required. Get a group together or come with a friend, but don't miss out.'
"Library up Late" will provide a unique opportunity to visit Cooroy Library if you haven't before. The spectacular facility opened its doors in 2010 to the community and stands as a fantastic addition to the hinterland town. Nestled into the side of the hill the building sports a grassy rooftop, two opposing curved pavilions and a high glazed lantern for natural light fall. On September 26 the high ceilings will be filled with the sounds of strings and wind instruments.
