Council awards sustainability at this year's Sunshine Coast Business Awards
Nominations are now open for the Sunshine Coast Business Awards and this year Noosa Council are proud to sponsor a special Sustainability Award.
This special award is new in 2014 and will recognise the efforts of businesses that have integrated sustainability practice into their planning and decision making, are realising the bottom line benefits of reducing their environmental impact, and embracing technology for increased productivity.
2014 sees the 20th anniversary of the awards and to celebrate there are new categories, criteria and a re-focusing of the judging process.
Noosa's Deputy Mayor Bob Abbot congratulated the Sunshine Coast Business Awards on achieving this milestone anniversary.
"These long running awards have done a great job of recognising and celebrating the success and hard work of local business, and on behalf of Noosa Council I'd like to encourage Noosa businesses to enter," Cr Abbot said.
Chair of the Sunshine Coast Business Awards Ross Hepworth said that as well as new award categories and new criteria, they will stage a series of free how to enter workshops in Caloundra, Maroochydore, the Hinterland and Noosa in July/August.
"A number of our 2013 winners will become ‘Business Heroes' and offer free mentoring services to our 2014 winners at these workshops," Mr Hepworth said.
The Noosa workshop will be held at The J on Wednesday 30 July from 7.30am to 8.45am.
Nominations close on 29 August. Businesses can enter online at www.SunshineCoastBusinessAwards.com.au. Finalists are announced in September with winners announced at the SCBA Gala ceremony on 15 November.
