Council chips in to promote responsible pet ownership
Noosa Council is partnering with the RSPCA by contributing $12,000 towards a campaign promoting responsible pet ownership.
"Operation Wanted" is a de-sexing and micro-chipping campaign aimed at reducing the number of unwanted kittens, puppies and older animals that are left unclaimed in shelters and pounds every year.
The Noosa campaign forms part of a targeted approach which is also occurring in eight other regions across the state to address the unwanted animal problem.
Council is pleased with the support provided by all of Noosa's veterinarians who have offered their services for a 20% discount off the usual cost to de-sex and micro-chip animals.
Residents are urged to visit their local vet clinic and take advantage of this generous offer which is available until 31 August 2014.
