Wild and woolly school holidays at the libraries

Back

Wondering what to do with the kids on those long winter days during the school holidays?

Noosaville and Cooroy Libraries have some good old-fashioned warming solutions for all ages and all interests.

Come inside and hear stories of ‘Silly Birds' by local author-illustrator Gregg Dreise, with a little didgeridoo, storytelling, dancing and boomerang painting.

Or join the ‘guardians of the lost arts' in learning old time crafting skills. Wallace House experts will teach some old-fashioned knitting skills that can keep your knees warm over winter.

Lots of kids love monsters but this time we have monsters with a difference. Children will learn to make their very own monster out of pom poms and enjoy some great monster stories.

Or if you like a bit of freestyle craft, try the ‘Your Favourite Animal' workshop to share your drawings, collage, and 3D models with the rest of the world who are blogging as part of a project based on Eric Carle's famous book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

And then there's The Great Lego Challenge – piles of lego, lots of imagination and who knows what can be created.

Then if it's too cold to go out to play, the kids can get rid of all that excess energy by joining Kirsty and Kester for music, singing, dancing and movement.

So if you like some good old-fashioned fun in the warmth, visit www.libraries.noosa.qld.gov.au or phone 5329 6555 to check the dates and book your place in these great workshops.
