Uniting for One Community in exhibition that celebrates our local culture
Noosa Council's Noosa Regional Gallery in collaboration with United Synergies, presents One Community: an exhibition of our community and our culture on the Sunshine Coast and opens to the public on Friday 28 March.
One Community comprises of a photographic display on the origins, growth and development of the Sunshine Coast-based community organisation, United Synergies over the past 25 years; supporting people in our community to develop a sense of self, a sense of place, a sense of purpose and a sense of belonging. United Synergies provides services and support to individuals, families and communities to assist them in achieving their full potential. For 25 years the organisation has worked with people experiencing personal challenges to help them achieve stability and security in their lives, along with a sense of wellbeing and happiness.
One Community also comprises of an exhibition of artworks by a collective of local emerging and established Indigenous artists, celebrating the lively Indigenous creative culture on the Sunshine Coast.
Artists in the collective group involve Lyndon Davis, Brent Miller, David Miller, Peter Mulcahy, Jandamarra Cadd, Jai Kemp, Robyn Lennox, Grant "Tank" Shaw, Joshua Lennox, De Greer Yindimincarlie, Aunty Alice Bonny, Eddie and Zartisha Williams and Paul Calcott. Coming together as one mob, both exhibitions highlight the strength of one community and coincide with the annual Booin Gari Festival on Tuesday 8 April, 2014.
All are invited to attend the formal opening of One Community on Friday 4 April at 6pm which will be launched with a Welcome to Country performed by Gubbi Gubbi traditional custodian, Brent Miller and officially opened by guest speaker: Christopher John, CEO United Synergies.

Booin Gari provides an opportunity for Indigenous young people and their families to come together and celebrate their culture and share it with the broader Sunshine Coast. Free event, no bookings required. *special opening hours: Noosa Regional Gallery will be open from 10am – 2pm.

Free children's art activities inspired by current exhibitions. Free event, no bookings required
• QAGOMA Kids on Tour: Cai Guo-Qiang, Sunday 13 April, 11am – 2pm
Take part in creative activities developed by artist Cai Guo-Qiang, courtesy of the Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane. Families can make and display objects, create spectacular multimedia gunpowder drawings and explosion events and watch a short animated film about the art and adventures of Cai Guo-Qiang. Kids on Tour is a Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art regional program, proudly supported by the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation. The Children's Art Centre is sponsored by Santos.

Engaging and creative art workshops for our younger audiences based on current exhibitions.
• Easter Holiday Workshops, April 9, 10, 16 and 17
