Credit Card Payments via BPAY
Some ratepayers may have experienced recent problems when electing to make payments to Council via credit card through their banking providers BPAY facility.
In particular some customers have received notification that the payment via credit card is treated as a cash advance by their banking provider.
Council has previously instructed its banking service provider that credit card payments made via BPAY are an acceptable payment method to Council, and is currently making further representations to ensure customers are not further inconvenienced.
Payments made via credit card should not be treated by banks as a cash advance, and if this occurs cardholders should also take this up with their respective bank or card issuer.
Council is mindful of the closing date for rates discount, and would encourage ratepayers to make arrangements for payment in time to receive their entitled rebates.
Payment options are detailed on Council's website, under Rates Payment Options.
