Cr Bob Abbot is Noosa's new Deputy Mayor

Councillor Bob Abbot was elected as Noosa's new Deputy Mayor at today's inaugural council meeting.
Cr Tony Wellington and Cr Frank Wilkie were also nominated for the role of Deputy Mayor with Cr Bob Abbott elected after an exhaustive ballot was held.
Cr Abbot declared his full support to Mayor Noel Playford.
Under the Local Government Act 2009 the role of a deputy mayor is to act for the mayor during the absence or temporary incapacity of the mayor, or if there is a vacancy in the office of mayor.
