Hop aboard a Free Holiday Bus this Easter

Back

Get around town with ease this Easter with Council’s Free Holiday Buses.

Travel will be free on five local TransLink bus routes from March 30 (Good Friday) to April 8, with a free shuttle bus on the road between Peregian Beach and Noosa Heads.

“The Free Holiday Buses are a great, free opportunity, for residents and visitors to try public transport,” says Council’s Infrastructure Services Director Carl Billingham.

“Council is pleased to again deliver this very popular initiative in cooperation with Sunbus and TransLink.

“66% of respondents who caught a Free Holiday Bus over the recent Christmas/New Year period said they had access to a car in Noosa, so residents and visitors are actively choosing to take the free bus, instead of drive, which is great to see.”

Travel on a range of regular services, and a temporary service will be free this Easter.

Regular services:

Route 626 – Tewantin to Sunrise Beach via Noosa Heads
Route 627 – Tewantin to Sunshine Beach via Noosa Heads
Route 628 – Noosa Parklands to Noosa Junction, via Noosa Civic
Route 629 – Tewantin to Noosa Junction via Noosa Civic
Route 632 – Noosa to Cooran via Cooroy and Pomona

Additional temporary service:

Route 064 - between Peregian Beach and Noosa Heads. For residents living between Peregian and Noosa, instead of catching Route 620, the temporary service, Route 064 (operated by Sunbus) is for you.

The Boreen Point Flexilink service and Noosa Council Cabs services will also be free from March 30 to April 8 (normal booking procedures apply).

Generally, a weekend timetable will operate on most public holidays.

Timetables are available at www.translink.com.au or call 13 12 30 anytime. Most of the free services terminate by 7pm.
