Pathway revamp set for May finish
Seven pathways in Noosa Shire are set for an upgrade in Council’s pathway renewal program.
These upgrades will improve accessibility for local residents and make Noosa more attractive as a pedestrian and cycle friendly destination for visitors.
Council will replace more than two kilometres of pathway by May.
Streets set for new paving include:
- David Low Way, Castaways Beach (near beach access 40)
- Goodwin Street, Tewantin
- Pacific Avenue, Sunshine Beach
- James Street, Noosaville
- Jacaranda Park, Tewantin
- Elm Street, Cooroy
- Gympie Terrace, Noosaville
Gympie Terrace will gain the longest stretch of replacement pathway, with 1.4km of asphalt to be laid. The other pathways will be concrete.
Infrastructure Services Director Carl Billingham said Council would like to thank local residents for their patience while these works are carried out.
“We will be doing all we can to keep the impacts to a minimum, however there will be some construction noise associated with these works,” Mr Billingham said.
Work will be taking place between 7am and 5pm, weekdays.
