Apply for Community Project Grants and RADF from today
Council will accept applications for the next round of Community Project Grants and the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) from today, Thursday, February 15.
“Community Project Grants help fund community-based not-for-profit organisations with a range of projects and programs including cultural, sporting and community events that bring residents together. I encourage community groups to apply and obtain advice from Council grant staff who are there to help,” says Councillor Ingrid Jackson.
The grants, allocated through a competitive assessment process twice a year, can also help fund building works or repairs to local facilities.
“Council’s Community Project Grants have supported a wide range of initiatives over the past four years. Successful applicants in the last round include the Veggie Village Community Gardens at Peregian Beach, the Strade Bianche cycling event, plus Zero Emissions Noosa, which is arranging the first-of-its-kind Noosa Electric Car Expo on May 22.
“Other grant recipients include the Noosa Trailblazers Mountain Bike Club, for its trail maintenance program, plus Queensland Koala Crusaders to help them train up citizen scientists to observe and rescue koalas,” Cr Jackson said.
Councillor Jess Glasgow, Chair of the RADF committee, said RADF grants provide assistance for eligible arts and cultural projects.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Noosa Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
“Since 2014 the RADF program has provided more than $140,000 to assist creative projects in Noosa,” Cr Glasgow said.
“Projects have included art installations, workshops, plus projects that employ emerging or established artists or arts workers.”
Applicants have until noon, April 12, 2018, to lodge both Community Project Grant and RADF applications.
