Cooran's Pioneer Park set for a $200,000 upgrade
Noosa Council is seeking community feedback on a proposed $200,000 upgrade of a central social meeting place for the local Cooran community, Pioneer Park.
Council’s Project Officer for Infrastructure Services, Dallas Bickley, said: “Pioneer Park will be a much more usable park as a result of this upgrade. The Cooran community will have more green space and significantly improved facilities.
The proposed new layout includes elements the local community has asked for:
- A new, wide concrete pathway network that links the park with new car parking bays off Prince Street:
- A new park shelter and BBQ facilities.
- A power supply.
- Improved drainage.
- New park seating.
- More usable green space and new turf.
“We are looking forward to receiving feedback from the community on the proposed new park layout. Community feedback will inform the final design.
“Work is scheduled to commence in the 2017/2018 financial year with completion in the 2018/2019 financial year.”
