Prize-winning Australian author Alex Miller will join ABC Radio host Sheridan Stewart for a night of engaging conversation at Noosaville Library on Thursday, November 9.

The two-time winner of the Miles Franklin award, the Commonwealth Writers Prize and numerous other literary awards will discuss his new book, The Passage of Love.

The Passage of Love is my take on fictional autobiography. My opportunity in old age to review my life and to celebrate the lives of loved ones, and to do this in the form of story,” Miller says.

Noosa Library Service Literacy and Learning Coordinator, Tracey King, describes Miller as a masterful storyteller who will draw a crowd.

“In The Passage of Love Alex Miller draws on memories, dreams, stories, love, and death, to create a moving and raw fictional novel that is the closest to an autobiography we are likely to read from him,” she says.

“He is published internationally and his works have been widely translated. Noosa Library Service is delighted to host him for an evening of conversation with Sheridan Stewart.”

Miller’s works have drawn great praise. Author Tim Winton described Coal Creek as a “triumph”, while fellow author Elizabeth Kostova says Miller has an “extraordinary ability to uncover the connections among people - individuals, races, nations.”

The event is free so bookings are essential as it will be popular. To reserve your place for the November 9 event, phone Noosa Library Service on (07) 5329 6555 or book online via the Noosa Library Service website. The event starts at 7pm. Doors open at 6.45pm.
