Council given auditor's tick of approval

Noosa Council has received a clean bill of health from the Queensland Audit Office.

The QAO this month signed off Noosa Council’s first set of financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2014.

Noosa Council CEO Brett de Chastel said the auditor’s tick of approval highlighted Council’s commitment to good governance.

“The compliance with audit requirements is another indicator of Council’s good financial management,” Mr de Chastel said.

“It means Council has fully complied with local government accounting standards and the QAO could not identify any issues that required reporting to the State Government.

“Having cleared de-amalgamation costs earlier this month, receiving a clean bill of health from the QAO means Noosa Council is ending its first year on a very positive note.

“We are confident we have built the strong financial platform needed to take Noosa Council into the future.”
