All aboard the free holiday buses

Noosa residents and visitors are reminded that they can climb aboard Council’s free holiday buses this festive season.

Passengers can travel for free around Noosa from Boxing Day to January 4.

“At Easter more than 32,000 people boarded the Free Holiday Buses – the highest passenger numbers on record for the Easter free services – which highlights its popularity,” said Noosa Council’s Director, Planning and Infrastructure, Martin Drydale.

The Free Holiday Buses initiative aims to reduce congestion during peak holiday periods, promote public transport and provide stress-free access to Noosa’s popular tourist precincts.

The local bus services that will operate free to the public between December 26 and January 4 include:

  • Route 626 – Sunrise Beach to Tewantin via Noosa Heads
  • Route 627 – Sunshine Beach to Tewantin via Noosa Heads
  • Route 628 – Noosa Junction to Noosa Parklands via Noosa Civic
  • Route 629 – Noosa Junction to Tewantin via Noosa Civic
  • Route 632 – Cooran to Noosa via Cooroy and Pomona
  • Route 064 – Peregian Beach to Noosa Heads (Temporary Shuttle)
  • Boreen Point to Tewantin Flexilink
  • Noosa Council Cabs Service

A recent survey found passengers enjoyed the convenience of the service.

The Free Holiday Bus program is delivered in partnership with TransLink and Sunshine Coast bus operator, Sunbus.
