Pedestrian and Traffic Changes for Main Beach Precinct

Building on lessons learned from last year, we've made improvements to enhance safety, traffic flow and visitor experience in Hastings Street and Main Beach, and Noosa Heads Lions Park.

- Improved traffic safety and efficiency: Ensuring safe and efficient movement, particularly during peak periods.
- Emergency Access: Providing additional dedicated spaces and clear access for emergency services to respond effectively when needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Addressing last year’s challenges, including traffic delays and insufficient wayfinding signage, to create a smoother, more enjoyable experience for everyone.

- Converted to a drop-off zone with bicycle storage, easing traffic congestion and improving access.
- Temporary storage available to assist visitors with parking logistics.
- Drop-off zone marshals on-site to manage traffic flow and visitor support between 6.30am & 5.30pm.
- Extra parking spaces for lifeguards, people with a disability (PWD) and motorbikes.
- Additional portable toilets, open daily from 7 am – 7 pm.
- New Year’s Eve closure for the support of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and emergency services.

- Free Park-and-Ride at AFL grounds, with directional signs and variable message boards guiding traffic.
- Two temporary bus stops along the Free Bus Loop Route are located at Noosa Drive (The J) and Weyba Road (AFL Grounds) for improved public transport travel options.

- Expanded footpaths for improved pedestrian safety.
- Emergency vehicle tow-away zones and adjusted parking areas to maintain clear emergency access.

Holiday Parking

During the Christmas holidays, the Noosa Heads Lions Park is temporarily opened for paid parking on selected days. The paid parking is managed by the Tewantin-Noosa Lions Club, on behalf of Noosa Council, with 60% of the revenue going towards their charitable works. View on map.

The Noosa Sea Scouts offer boat trailer parking at their campground conveniently located near the Noosa River. Proceeds support their program.
Noosa Sea Scouts: $10/day or $50/week.
